"The Orchard of Innumerable Plans" is a tale of love, landscape and the passage of time. As a short story this work was first published in Blood & Aphorisms, Issue #23, Toronto, Ontario, Summer 1996. Inspired by the half wild apple orchards of my rural childhood, the "Orchard of Innumerable Plans" has long been a metaphoric space for me. I chose to evolve this work into a web format because I felt that the transient and mythic landscape of the mind seemed to be readily adaptable to the equally amorphous space of the internet. More linear than my other web work, the ephemeral nature of the narrative seemed to warrant a simple treatment. "The Orchard of Innumerable Plans" was included in the exhibit, ENGAGING THE VIRTUAL, Curated by Doug Porter at the Dalhousie Art Gallery, Halifax, N.S. which ran from March 9 - April 23, 2000.
